Key Stages 3 and 4

"A Christmas Carol"

With many schools including this classic novella on their English curriculum, why not bring the book to life with a visit from a storyteller who really knows what the Dickens he's talking about?

I will engage your students with lively readings, alongside stories of true life incidents which inspired Dickens to write the book.  A crazy nanny who terrified young Charles; a childhood incident where his father spotted him in a shop window; an encounter with a moustachioed quack who analysed the bumps on Dickens head: Dickens drew on all these and more for his much loved story.

Do get in touch for a chat about how I can help your classes love Dickens!

Other possibilities include...

  • The Lambton Worm and other traditional tales:  Storytelling is not just for fairytales, but then fairytales are not just for little children.  Find out why and get your students telling their own tales.
  • The truth about Macbeth: Explore  one of Shakespeare's most thrilling plots, and get students thinking about why his stories still resonate today.  Other Shakespeare stories also available

Subject specific sessions can also be arranged.  Let's have a conversation about how I can help you!
