2023's festive season is not too far away, and festive bookings are coming in, but it's not too late to get in touch .
If you're staying in Center Parcs Sherwood Forest, look out for me as part of the winter storytelling team between November and February.
I'm also returning for a fifth year to York's Northwood Trail (England's fairy sanctuary) to "assist" the Holly King!
I've worked with a number of U3A groups over the last year, in Mansfield, Derby, Calverton, Beeston and Bingham to name a few. There are several more coming up in the calendar, including Cotgrave, Ruddington and a return to Mansfield. Talks have ranged from A Christmas Carol, to the Brothers Grimm and to Aesop
It has been a joy in 2023 to have the best of both worlds! I have worked in two schools - Crescent Primary in Mansfield and Prospect Hill Primary in Worksop - for longer periods as a supply teacher, although both schools were gracious enough to give me time out to keep up other storytelling work. Needless to say, both schools had a good dose of storytelling, and I was even presented with a storyteller's cape, signed by all the children, when I left Prospect!
I had a fantastic day in Ilkeston's musuem this summer, providing storytelling and creative activities to support a Jungle Book theme. I created my own versions of some of Kipling's stories, along with a few of my old favourites, and encouraged the good folk of Ilkeston to create some wonderful stick puppets and mural artwork.
I'm continuing to broadcast regularly on Radio Nottingham's Sunday morning "Thought for the Day" slot, most recently on 3rd September 2023. Listen out for me!
I now have a wonderful Youtube channel to show off my stories. Why not have a look at some of the stories from around the world I could be telling live for you!
